Last Chance Bid to Protect the Queensland Lungfish in its Natural Habitiat and Stop the Traveston Dam in its Tracks.

The Legal Case WBBCC v Burnett Water Pty Ltd is entering the crutical stages and the hearing is set to begin on the 7th of September. Confidence in this case is building every day and there has never been a better time to make a tax deductible donation over $2 to our Public Fund (Please see ‘Donations Page’ for complete terms). Donations are beginning to pour in but additional funds are always needed.

After a long and tiring political campaign, the opportunity to put a stop to the proposed Traveston Crossing through political avenues, did not succeed. Therefore this legal case may hold the last chance to ensure that Traveston is not approved by the Department of Environment, Water and Heritage. If we successfully win this case ( and we are very confident that we will), the way in which approvals are made under the EPBC Act 1999 in relation to the protection of E, V & R species connected with infrastructure and development, will have to be re-evaluated and monitored more thoroughly in the future. This WILL have major implications for Traveston!

If you would like to make a donation to our Public Fund indicating that you wish it to be allocated toward the financial costs of the case, then please contacts us by ringing our office: 07 41233361( if I am unavailable, please leave a message),  email us (wbbconservationc@bigpond.com)  or go to our ‘Donations’ page and view the details to make a direct deposit.
